Tonight I sat and watched the opening ceremonies of the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. While in some respects it was not as spectacular as the Beijing games, in it's own way it was quite spectacular. As I sat there, I could feel the national pride of the Russian people and the joy of all the athletes participating in the games. It is my fervent hope that peace will prevail throughout these games and that goodwill will spread through the world, emanating from this venue. While not a sport fan, I do enjoy the athleticism that drive all Olympians, both summer and winter. I am looking forward to a most pleasurable time these next two weeks.
